My Priorities for the Hurunui District
As your councillor, I will be a strong advocate for the community, listening to ratepayers' concerns and presenting them to the council
Transparency & Communication
It's important to me that the community is involved and aware of the decisions the council is making on their behalf. I believe in open communication and ensuring residents have a voice in local government.
Fiscally Responsible Decisions
It's vital that all financial decisions made by the council are fiscally responsible. The council must remember whose money they are making decisions with and ensure every dollar is spent wisely for the community's benefit.
Focus on Core Functions
Councils should not get distracted and must remain focused on their core functions in support of the community as a whole. Essential services and infrastructure should be our primary focus.
WSCCO Oversight
Now that the decision has been made to form a Water Services Council Controlled Organisation (WSCCO) with Kaikōura District Council, it's vital that appropriate and efficient oversight is in place to ensure the WSCCO delivers.
